OUT OF THE BOX Lone Wolf 9mm Pistol
OUT OF THE BOX Lone Wolf 9mm Pistol
Newly arrived in Australia are the Lone Wolf 9mm Pistols. Whilst Lone Wolf are no strangers to manufacturing firearm components, the company is now manufacturing their own brand using the very components they would supply to another very well know industry leader. When you first open the box, you can't help but notice the similarities to GLOCK (r) pistols. Lone Wolf supplied upgrade and performance parts for GLOCK pistols and now we have high performance components housed in an ergonomically improved firearm. Two models with two variants each are currently available. There are more component and variants on the horizon.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on the Lone Wolf Timber Wolf 17 in 9mm Luger 5" Black with RMR cutout. We fitted a HOLOSUN HE507K-GR this was coupled to the pistol using the HOLOSUN RMR adapter plate.
The ergonomics, angle and length of the grip are suited to medium to large hands on this model. The angle of the grip is akin to a 1911 and there's no doubt this is a case of 1911 meets GLOCK.
ON THE RANGE
The pistol performed really well straight out of the box, using both the open sights and the HOLOSUN Optics. A noticeable advantage is the ability to co-witness and flawlessly swapping between iron sights and optics.

HOW DID IT SHOOT
The first 5 rounds all hit within the 9 and 10 ring at 15 meters and the 2nd lot of 5 were below on the 7 & 8 ring using the Optics. The HOLOSUN was not zeroed at this stage, so this was a really good result. With its target trigger breaking at just on 4lbs and short reset, quick follow up shots keep your muzzle on target. The controls are all within easy reach and little movement is required to operate the magazine and slide release. The slide sports aggressive serrations near the muzzle and top of the slide with serrations either side of the slide towards the rear. This made it easy to cycle even with slightly arthritic hands. On the underside the exaggerated beaver tail coupled with a nice undercut trigger guard allows for the pistol to sit comfortably low in the hand. Toward the front you'll find an integrated pic style mount for your preferred accessories. To finish off there is a threaded muzzle for the soon to come compensators.

OVERALL
This is an excellent choice for those looking for an inexpensive Steel/polymer 9mm pistol. The Lone Wolf certainly ticks a lot of boxes in so many good ways with a starting price of $1399.00 for the DUSK 19 and $1499.00 for the Timber Wolf all come cased with 2 x 10 round magazines, you won't be disappointed.
