The Henry Long Ranger is a unique lever-action rifle engineered to deliver bolt-action accuracy and distance performance while retaining the quick cycling speed of a traditional lever gun.
Unlike standard tube-fed lever rifles, it utilizes a geared action, a six-lug rotary locking bolt head, and a detachable box magazine. This design allows it to safely chamber high-velocity, ballistic-tipped centerfire cartridges.
- Geared Action & Rotating Bolt: Features a machined, chromed steel bolt with a six-lug rotary head that locks tightly into a rear extension of the barrel. This creates a consistent lock-up identical to a bolt-action system, significantly improving down-range accuracy.
- Detachable Box Magazine: Uses a flush-fit, steel-bodied magazine (4 or 5-round capacity depending on the caliber). This setup removes the safety risks of tube-fed magazines, where bullet tips rest against the primers of preceding rounds under recoil.
- Receiver & Ejection: Constructed with a lightweight aerospace alloy receiver featuring side ejection. The top is drilled and tapped to accommodate scope mounts or Picatinny rails.
- Safety System: Operates without a manual safety switch. It relies instead on an internal, trigger-operated sliding transfer bar safety. The hammer cannot strike the firing pin unless the trigger is fully pulled and held back.
The platform is split into two primary configurations: the Standard Long Ranger and the Long Ranger Express.
