Swarovski Optik Warranty: What's Covered, and How to Register Yours

A Swarovski Optik product is a long-term purchase — most hunters and shooters who buy one keep it for decades, often passing it on. The warranty behind it is built for that timeframe. Here's what actually happens if something goes wrong, in plain terms.

How long is the warranty?

Swarovski Optik's standard warranty runs 10 years in total: a 5-year manufacturer's warranty against material and manufacturing defects, followed by a further 5 years of goodwill coverage. Across that period, Swarovski Optik covers both labour and material costs to repair or replace a faulty unit, at their discretion.

What's covered

  • Material defects and manufacturing faults
  • Labour and parts for the repair, during both the manufacturer and goodwill phases
  • Return shipping to you, by insured courier, once a covered repair is complete

What's excluded

  • Normal wear items — eyecups, carry straps, cases and armouring aren't covered indefinitely, since they're expected to wear with use
  • Damage from improper use, accidents or unauthorised modification
  • Repairs carried out by a service centre other than Swarovski Optik's own network
  • Claims made without proof of purchase or a valid warranty registration

If a repair falls outside the warranty — a cracked lens from a knock, for instance — Swarovski Optik will still quote and carry out the repair; you simply pay for parts, labour and return shipping rather than it being covered.

Registering your warranty

This is the step people skip and later regret. To claim under warranty, Swarovski Optik requires either your original invoice or a warranty document that's been dated, signed and stamped by an authorised dealer at the point of sale. Without one of these, a repair is treated as chargeable even if the fault is genuinely a manufacturing defect.

Every Swarovski Optik and Kahles product bought at Magnum Sports comes with this documentation provided automatically at the counter — keep your receipt (or the PDF from your order confirmation) somewhere you can find it in ten years, not just this week. If you've misplaced yours from a past purchase, get in touch and we'll pull the original sale record for you.

Making a claim

If something does go wrong, bring the product and your proof of purchase in to us first — we'll check the fault, confirm what's covered, and handle the freight and paperwork to Swarovski Optik's Australian service centre on your behalf rather than you needing to deal with it directly. It's usually the fastest path to a resolution, and it means the claim is lodged correctly the first time.
