Factory ammunition for hunting, pest control and competition, across rifle, rimfire, handgun and shotgun. Stocked brands include ADI, Hornady, Federal, Norma, Sako, Fiocchi, PMC, Sellier & Bellot, Winchester and SK, plus military surplus and bulk-buy lots when they come in.

A quick guide to picking a load: soft points and bonded projectiles for deer and pigs where penetration matters; polymer-tipped varmint loads for foxes and rabbits where rapid expansion is wanted; FMJ and match loads for range and competition. In rimfire, standard velocity match ammunition consistently outperforms cheap bulk packs at distance. Barrel twist and bullet weight need to suit each other, so check your rifle before buying heavies.

Ammunition sales require a current firearms licence in the matching category. We verify licence details before dispatch and ship Australia-wide under compliant packing with tracking.

      Common questions

Can I buy ammunition online in Australia?
You can order ammunition online at Magnum Sports, but it is collection from the store only: we put the order aside, sight your firearms licence when you collect at Roseville Chase and hand it over. We do not ship ammunition. You can only buy ammunition for a calibre your licence covers.
What licence do I need to buy ammunition in NSW?
A current NSW firearms licence, or a permit, for a firearm that takes that ammunition; the dealer must sight it. Category A covers rimfire and shotgun ammunition, Category B centrefire rifle, and Category H pistol ammunition. Interstate licences are accepted under the same rule.
How much does ammunition cost in Australia?
At Magnum Sports .22 LR starts at $8 a box of 50, 12-gauge target loads at $15 a box of 25, .223 Rem at $29 and most centrefire hunting ammunition (.243, .270, 6.5 Creedmoor, .308, .30-06) is $45 to $95 a box of 20. Premium loads such as Hornady Precision Hunter and Berger run $80 to $130.
How should ammunition be stored in NSW?
In a locked container that is kept separate from the receptacle or safe holding your firearms. Many gun safes include a separate lockable ammunition compartment that satisfies this; otherwise a locked steel ammunition box is needed.
Do you sell ammunition in bulk?
Yes. Case pricing is available on most rimfire, .223, .308 and 12-gauge lines, and we can order pallets for clubs and primary producers. Ask for a quote on 500 rounds or more.
