The range runs from .22 LR trainers (GSG 1911 and Chiappa 1911-22) through 9mm to the classic .45 ACP Government, Gold Cup, Milspec, Ronin, Loaded, Emissary and SW1911 models used in bullseye, service pistol and IPSC Classic matches.

All are Category H firearms for approved club shooters. In NSW, .45 ACP 1911s need a large-calibre pistol permit tied to an approved competition; 9mm and .22 LR 1911s sit inside the .38-calibre limit for general sport shooting, and a .22 LR GSG or Chiappa 1911 is one of the pistols a probationary licence holder can acquire in the second six months of their licence. Magazines are limited to 10 rounds and barrels must be at least 120 mm.

Prices run from $600 for a Chiappa 1911-22 and $764 for a GSG 1911 to $1,150 for the Colt Government, $1,299 to $2,816 for the Springfield range, $2,254 to $4,017 for Colt Series 70 and Gold Cup models and $3,508 to $4,474 for Smith & Wesson SW1911s.
