For medium game such as goats, pigs and deer, Hornady's Outfitter line offers this 257 Weatherby Magnum load carrying a 90 gr CX. Hornady rates it at 3,625 ft/s from its test barrel with a G1 ballistic coefficient of .273. It suits hunters who need ammunition that shrugs off wet, rough conditions.

Outfitter is built for hard use in the field. Cases are nickel-plated for corrosion resistance and the primer and case mouth are sealed watertight. It is topped with the CX copper-alloy bullet, which gives uniform, controlled expansion, deep penetration and better than 95 percent weight retention, and it suits areas that require lead-free projectiles.
