For target and match shooting, the 90 gr A-Tip Match projectile in 22 calibre from Hornady is a target projectile worth a look. It measures .224" in diameter and carries a G1 ballistic coefficient of .585 (G7 .295), which is what makes it worth loading at distance.
A-Tip Match uses a precision-machined aluminium tip that is longer than a polymer tip, which moves the centre of gravity rearward for better in-flight stability. The patented DVRT tip has a flat meplat that makes drag more uniform for smaller groups at distance, and the ogive, tip length, bearing surface and boat-tail are optimised for each calibre. Bullets come straight off the press, sequentially packaged with minimal handling, and include a polishing bag. Hornady recommends its A-Tip seating stem for correct seating.
