The Hornady 270 calibre 130 gr CX is a hunting projectile for large game including sambar, red deer and scrub bulls. It measures .277" in diameter with a G1 ballistic coefficient of .403, and it suits hunters who want a lead-free bullet with deep penetration and high weight retention.
CX (Copper alloy eXpanding) is a monolithic hunting bullet. Being one piece of copper alloy it cannot separate, and it typically retains around 95 percent of its weight while penetrating deeply. The Heat Shield tip resists aerodynamic heating to hold a consistently high ballistic coefficient through the whole flight and gives every bullet the same meplat. Grooves cut into the shank reduce bearing surface and fouling while improving aerodynamics. It is the right choice where lead-free projectiles are required, and it suits medium through to large game.
