A hunting projectile for large game including sambar, red deer and scrub bulls, the Hornady 270 calibre 140 gr InterLock BTSP comes in boxes of 100. It measures .277" in diameter with a G1 ballistic coefficient of .486, and it suits hunters after controlled expansion and deep penetration on medium and large game.
The InterLock is a conventional exposed-lead-tip hunting bullet built around a raised ring inside the jacket. That ring is embedded in the one-piece core and keeps core and jacket locked together as the bullet expands, so mass and energy are retained for deep penetration and a broad wound channel. Inner grooves weaken the upper jacket for reliable opening even at longer range, the jacket is tapered for expansion at all practical velocities, and a cannelure gives a consistent crimp on the press.
