For buffalo and other heavy, dangerous game, the 250 gr InterLock SP-RP projectile in 35 calibre from Hornady is a heavy-game projectile worth a look. It measures .358" in diameter with a G1 ballistic coefficient of .375, and it suits hunters after controlled expansion and deep penetration on medium and large game.

The InterLock is a conventional exposed-lead-tip hunting bullet built around a raised ring inside the jacket. That ring is embedded in the one-piece core and keeps core and jacket locked together as the bullet expands, so mass and energy are retained for deep penetration and a broad wound channel. Inner grooves weaken the upper jacket for reliable opening even at longer range, the jacket is tapered for expansion at all practical velocities, and a cannelure gives a consistent crimp on the press.
