The Hornady 423 calibre (.423") 400 gr DGX Bonded is a dangerous-game expanding bullet for the 404 Jeffery, built for hunters of buffalo and other heavy game who want controlled expansion with the penetration of a solid. It has a G1 ballistic coefficient of .315 and a sectional density of .319.

A 0.098" copper-clad steel jacket is bonded to the lead core, so the bullet stays in one piece through hide, muscle and bone and retains most of its weight. The flat nose is divided by serrations to open uniformly to one and a half to two times calibre at typical 100 to 150 yard dangerous-game distances while tracking straight rather than deflecting. It shares its profile with the matching DGS solid, so the two can be loaded to the same point of impact.
