This Hornady 45 calibre 300 gr XTP Mag is a handgun projectile aimed squarely at handgun hunting and target work. It measures .452" in diameter with a G1 ballistic coefficient of .200, and it suits magnum handgun hunters who need deeper penetration.

XTP Mag bullets keep the controlled expansion and accuracy of the standard XTP but are built to stand up to the higher velocities and impact speeds of heavy magnum handgun cartridges, driving deeper than a standard XTP. Serrations in the nose initiate symmetrical expansion, the drawn gilding-metal jacket varies in thickness to control how far it opens, the core is swaged for uniform density, and there is no exposed lead at the nose. A cannelure is provided for a firm crimp.
