Hornady's 250 gr MonoFlex in 45 calibre is built for large game including sambar, red deer and scrub bulls. It measures .458" in diameter with a G1 ballistic coefficient of .175, and it suits lever-action hunters who want a lead-free bullet that is safe in a tubular magazine.

MonoFlex brings together the monolithic copper-alloy construction of the GMX and the Flex Tip of the FTX. The one-piece copper alloy does not separate and retains around 95 percent of its weight, and the alloy is harder and tougher than pure copper so it fouls less and does not raise pressure the way solid-copper bullets can. The patented Flex Tip is safe in tubular magazines and starts expansion even at the lower impact velocities common to mid- and long-range lever-gun shots.
