The Hornady 50 BMG primer seating gauge checks the seating depth of the large 50 BMG primer, for handloaders of the big cartridge who want every primer seated to the same depth below the case head for safe, consistent ignition.
Hornady lists it among the accessories for its Lock-N-Load 50 Cal BMG press, alongside the 50 BMG powder measure, high-capacity metering kit and shell holder #50. A properly seated 50 BMG primer matters more than in smaller cartridges because of the bolt-face and firing-pin loads involved; the gauge takes the guesswork out of it.
