Hornady 500 S&W (.500") 350 gr XTP Mag is a heavy jacketed hollow point for magnum revolver hunters who need penetration on medium game as well as controlled expansion. Ballistic coefficient is .145 (G1) with a sectional density of .192.

XTP Mag keeps the serrated nose and swaged core of the standard XTP but is built to stand up to the velocity and impact of the biggest magnum handgun cartridges, so it drives deeper before it finishes expanding. The drawn gilding-metal jacket varies in thickness along the bullet to govern how far it opens, the jacket covers the nose so there is no exposed lead, and a cannelure gives a firm, consistent roll crimp for the heavy recoil of a 500 S&W.
