This Hornady 6.5MM 160 gr InterLock RN is a hunting projectile aimed squarely at large game including sambar, red deer and scrub bulls. It measures .264" in diameter with a G1 ballistic coefficient of .283, and it suits hunters after controlled expansion and deep penetration on medium and large game.
The InterLock is a conventional exposed-lead-tip hunting bullet built around a raised ring inside the jacket. That ring is embedded in the one-piece core and keeps core and jacket locked together as the bullet expands, so mass and energy are retained for deep penetration and a broad wound channel. Inner grooves weaken the upper jacket for reliable opening even at longer range, the jacket is tapered for expansion at all practical velocities, and a cannelure gives a consistent crimp on the press.
