The Hornady Lock-N-Load modified case in 22-250 Rem threads onto a Lock-N-Load OAL gauge so a handloader can measure the exact seating depth at which a bullet touches the rifling in their 22-250 Rem rifle. It is the piece anyone tuning bullet jump for this cartridge needs.

Each modified case is a real case made to SAAMI dimensions, threaded at the head to screw onto the gauge and with the neck opened up about .002" so the bullet slides freely. Push the bullet forward until it stops against the lands, lock the gauge and measure with a bullet comparator to read a true base-to-ogive length. A few thousandths of change in jump can be the difference between average and very good groups. Fits both the straight and curved OAL gauges.
