The Hornady pistol rotor and standard pistol metering insert convert the Lock-N-Load powder measure for small charges, for handgun handloaders throwing 0.5 to 17 grains. It is the piece that lets one measure cover both rifle and pistol work.

The pistol rotor has a smaller chamber than the rifle rotor, which meters light charges more precisely and consistently, and the standard pistol insert supplied with it pushes in and out with the measure's button release. Fit the rotor, drop in the insert, verify the charge on a scale and you are loading pistol ammunition.
