Buying Lever Action Shotguns in Australia

Magnum Sports stocks the lever-action shotguns available to Category B licence holders in NSW: the Adler A110 in Synthetic, Synthetic Bronze and All Weather form, the Adler B220, the Chiappa 1887 and pre-owned A110, B220 and IAC 1887 examples on consignment. A lever-action shotgun with a magazine capacity of five rounds or fewer is a Category B firearm in NSW; more than five is Category D. Every one needs a Permit to Acquire.

Lever-action shotguns became popular in Australia because they give a licensed hunter or pest controller a fast-cycling repeating shotgun without a Category C licence. The Adler A110 is the standard choice at $1,083 to $1,160: 12 gauge, five-round tube, 20 or 28 inch barrels, interchangeable chokes and a synthetic stock. The B220 at $837 is the budget version and the Chiappa 1887 the traditional cowboy-action gun.

Five are on hand today, including new Adler A110s and pre-owned A110s and a Chiappa 1887; others are ordered in. Note that straight-pull and lever-release shotguns such as the Adler B230 and Axor Hardhead have moved to Category C under the 2026 reforms and are not in this collection.
