The MTM 804-40 long-term handgun storage case suits full-size semi-autos and revolvers with barrels of 4 inches or less, for the licensed owner storing a pistol in the safe. The gun rests on closed-cell foam, which wicks less gun oil than open-cell foam.

A compartment takes desiccant, a second takes a magazine or cleaning gear, and a 25-round ammo tray for 9mm, 38/357, 44 Mag or 45 ACP is included. Padlockable. Outside 10.2 x 7.2 x 2.2 inches.

MTM Case-Gard has moulded its ammunition boxes and cases in Dayton, Ohio since 1968, and the polypropylene it uses is chosen because it will not warp, crack, chip or peel with age. For an Australian shooter that means a box that survives years of ute trays, safes and range benches.
