A sling is the cheapest thing that makes a rifle easier to carry and steadier to shoot. Two jobs, and they pull in different directions: carrying weight off your hands over a long walk, and giving you a loop to brace against when you take the shot. A wide, padded sling carries best. A simple two-point with a quick adjuster braces best. Most hunters are better served by the second.
Fit matters more than material. Set the length with the rifle shouldered in the position you actually shoot from, not standing in the shop. Check your swivel studs before you buy — not every sling fits every mount, and a sling that detaches under load is worse than no sling at all.
Every firearm we sell needs a licence and a Permit to Acquire. Slings and accessories do not. Come and see us at Roseville Chase and we will fit one to your rifle at the counter.
