The Sierra 1440 is a 40 grain 22 calibre (.224) BlitzKing, Sierra's polymer-tipped varmint bullet (Tipped VarmintKing, TVK) for pest controllers loading for 22 centrefires such as the 223 Rem and 22-250. The 40 grain #1440 BlitzKing is the lightest 22 calibre tipped varmint bullet, for maximum velocity from the 223 Rem and 22-250.

The BlitzKing's polymer tip streamlines the nose for a better ballistic coefficient and drives expansion on impact, while the light jacket ensures explosive results on foxes, rabbits and similar pests at high velocity. The tip also protects the nose from damage in the magazine, so the bullet flies as consistently as it was made. Like all varmint bullets it is not intended for game animals; keep it for pest control and match the weight to your rifle's twist.
