Sierra's 120 grain 6.5mm (.264) Pro-Hunter (#1720) is a spitzer for hunters loading for the 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5x55 and other 6.5mm cartridges who want controlled expansion and deep penetration at practical ranges. The 120 grain #1720 spitzer is an all-round bullet for the smaller 6.5mm cases such as the 6.5x55 and 260 Rem, and it handles longer shots on medium game from the 264 Win Mag and 6.5-284, though it is too soft for very close shots at magnum velocities.

Pro-Hunter bullets use a flat base and Sierra's double-tapered jacket for controlled expansion and deep penetration on medium and heavy game at short to medium range, and their short length for weight helps accuracy and stability.
