The Sierra 1730 is a 140 grain 6.5mm (.264) GameKing spitzer boat tail, a boat tail hunting bullet for the 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5x55 and other 6.5mm cartridges. Sierra rates the 140 grain #1730 as its top long-range 6.5mm hunting bullet; it works from any medium or large capacity 6.5mm case and is most effective from the 6.5 PRC and 264 Win Mag at full hunting loads.

GameKing bullets pair a boat tail base with Sierra's tapered hunting jacket, so they hold a flatter trajectory and retain more energy at distance than a flat-base bullet while still expanding and penetrating on game.
