A hollow point boat tail for the 7mm-08, 7x57 and 7mm magnums, the 175 grain Sierra MatchKing #1975 is aimed at the target shooter and reloader who wants repeatable groups rather than a hunting bullet. The 175 grain #1975 is the classic 7mm long-range MatchKing, well suited to the 7mm Rem Mag, 7mm PRC and 284 Win where its weight and profile give it excellent wind performance.

MatchKing jackets are drawn thin and held to very tight concentricity, with a small hollow point meplat that keeps weight and balance consistent from bullet to bullet. Sierra specifies a barrel twist of 1:8.5 in or faster for this bullet. They are a target design: Sierra does not recommend MatchKings for most hunting, and on varmints they will not open as reliably as the lighter-jacketed VarmintKing and BlitzKing bullets.
