For the 30-30 Win and other lever-action loads, the Sierra #2010 170 grain 30 calibre (.308) Pro-Hunter is a flat nose built for reliable expansion on game at short to medium range. The 170 grain #2010 flat nose was designed for the 30-30 Win with a jacket matched to 30-30 velocities; it is safe in tubular magazines and works in any 30 calibre cartridge kept under about 2500 to 2600 fps and inside 150 yards.

Pro-Hunter bullets use a flat base and Sierra's double-tapered jacket for controlled expansion and deep penetration on medium and heavy game at short to medium range, and their short length for weight helps accuracy and stability. The blunt nose keeps this bullet safe in tubular magazines and lets a barrel stabilise a heavier bullet than a spitzer of the same weight. Sierra introduced this bullet in 1959.
