For the 308 Win, 30-06 and other 30 calibre cartridges, the Sierra #2155 155 grain 30 calibre (.308) MatchKing is a proven hollow point boat tail that competitive shooters have relied on for years. The 155 grain #2155 was designed for Palma competition at 800 to 1000 yards and first appeared at the 1992 Palma matches; it remains a standard choice for 308 Win full-bore shooters.

MatchKing jackets are drawn thin and held to very tight concentricity, with a small hollow point meplat that keeps weight and balance consistent from bullet to bullet. They are a target design: Sierra does not recommend MatchKings for most hunting, and on varmints they will not open as reliably as the lighter-jacketed VarmintKing and BlitzKing bullets.
