Sierra's 140 grain 7mm (.284) TGK (#4540) pairs a polymer tip with a heavy hunting jacket, giving hunters loading for the 7mm-08, 7x57 and 7mm magnums a flat-shooting bullet with dependable expansion. The 140 grain #4540 is the bullet 7mm-08 shooters had been asking for, with a .545 G1 ballistic coefficient, and it also works well in most other 7mm chamberings including the magnums.
The polymer tip initiates expansion and lifts the ballistic coefficient, while the heavily constructed jacket controls that expansion for deep penetration on medium and large game. The tip also protects the nose in the magazine and keeps the ballistic coefficient consistent from shot to shot, which shows up as tighter groups at longer range.
