Sierra's 400 grain 50 calibre (.500) Sports Master (#5400) is a jacketed soft point built to expand at handgun velocities, for shooters loading the 500 S&W Magnum. The 400 grain #5400 soft point has its cannelure placed for the 500 S&W Magnum and gives deep penetration on large game from that cartridge.

Sports Master bullets use Sierra's skived Power Jacket over a lead core, which opens reliably at handgun velocities while holding together for penetration; they are a sound choice for handgun hunting, silhouette and general target work in revolvers, pistols and pistol-calibre rifles. Sierra introduced this bullet in 2004.
