The Sierra 8430 is a 150 grain 10mm/40 calibre (.400) Sports Master jacketed hollow point, a handgun bullet for hunters, silhouette and target shooters loading for the 10mm Auto and 40 S&W. The 150 grain #8430 is the light 10mm Auto and 40 S&W hollow point, giving rapid expansion on pests to about 100 yards; it has no cannelure, so allow for taper crimping.

Sports Master bullets use Sierra's skived Power Jacket over a lead core, which opens reliably at handgun velocities while holding together for penetration; they are a sound choice for handgun hunting, silhouette and general target work in revolvers, pistols and pistol-calibre rifles. Sierra introduced this bullet in 1988.
