Sierra's 230 grain 45 calibre (.4515) Tournament Master (#8815) is a full metal jacket for target and competition shooters loading the 45 ACP and 45 Colt, with reliable feeding and match accuracy as the design goals. The 230 grain #8815 FMJ is the standard 45 ACP competition and practice weight, with reliable feeding a design requirement.

Tournament Master bullets are fully jacketed and non-expanding, designed first for positive feeding in semi-automatic pistols and then for the accuracy competition shooters expect from Sierra. The jacket fully covers the nose, so there is no exposed lead to foul feed ramps, and weight and diameter are held to tight tolerances for consistent groups. They are practice and match bullets rather than hunting projectiles, and the standard weights make working up a load straightforward. Sierra introduced this bullet in 1980.
