Hoppes G96 Gun Oil is a liquid gun treatment formulated to clean, lubricate, and protect metal and polymer firearm surfaces in a single application. It contains solvents to remove rust, fouling, leading, and corrosion; lubricants designed to resist oxidation and evaporation; and a protective, nearly invisible film intended to guard metal parts from rust and fingerprinting.
- All-in-one use: cleans and conditions metal surfaces with a single application.
- Lubrication: leaves lubricants that the manufacturer describes as non-gumming and formulated to perform at very low and high temperatures.
- Corrosion protection: leaves a protective film described as resistant to weather and salt spray; the product is also noted as safe for use on polymers.
- Application guidance: apply evenly, allow to set ~60 seconds, then wipe; for initial or long-term protection, apply up to three times, wiping between coats; allow solvents to evaporate ~10 minutes before sealing in an airtight container.
