The Hornady Lock-N-Load Modified Case in 7mm-08 Remington is the chamber-specific case that screws onto a Lock-N-Load OAL Gauge so you can measure the distance to the lands in your 7mm-08 rifle. Anyone tuning seating depth for a 7mm-08 needs the matching modified case.

Each modified case is a real case made to SAAMI specification, threaded at the case head and with the neck opened up .002" so it accepts the same bullets you load. That is what lets the gauge read the true bullet-to-rifling length rather than an approximation from a dummy bullet.
