Redding Precision Expanding Die Without Mandrel

The Redding Precision Expanding Die lets a handloader control case-neck I.D. to set neck tension precisely for consistent bullet release.

• Die construction: machined on CNC lathes and heat-treated for dimensional integrity and long-term durability.
• Alignment design: angled alignment surfaces on the die body and mandrel align components when assembled; the threaded retention plug and lock ring secure the assembly.
• Mandrel options: mandrels are machined from tool steel, hardened and precision-ground to final diameter, and are available in .0005" diameter increments from .0005" through .0030" below nominal bullet diameter for fine neck-tension adjustments.
• Factory assembly note: the Precision Expanding Die is factory-assembled with one mandrel that is .0010" below nominal bullet diameter per caliber (22–338).

These built-in features support precise, repeatable neck sizing and fine adjustment of neck tension through selectable mandrel diameters and secure alignment when the die and mandrel are assembled.
