Redding Precision Expanding Mandrels (270/6.8mm)

Redding Precision Expanding Mandrels let a handloader control case neck I.D. precisely to set neck tension for consistent bullet release. Each mandrel is machined from tool steel, then hardened and precision-ground to its final diameter; the finished size is stamped on the mandrel head for quick identification. Mandrels are produced in .0005" diameter increments from .0005" through .0030" below nominal bullet diameter, enabling fine adjustment to match a handloader’s preferred neck tension.

• CNC-machined and heat-treated components maintain dimensional integrity for long-term use.
• Angled alignment surfaces on the die body and mandrel, plus a threaded retention plug and lock ring, ensure correct assembly and consistent alignment.
• Available sizes are marked on the head; common factory assembly uses one mandrel at .0010" below nominal bullet diameter for calibers .22–.338.
