Do I need a licence to buy projectiles in NSW?
No. Projectiles, cases and reloading equipment are components, not ammunition, so no licence is needed and they can be posted Australia-wide. Loaded ammunition, primers and propellant require a firearms licence for the relevant calibre and are collected from our Sydney store.
Which Hornady bullet is best for deer hunting?
The ELD-X is the most popular choice for sambar, red and fallow deer, especially the 6.5mm 143gr, 7mm 162gr and .308 178gr. The CX monolithic copper bullet suits lead-free areas and heavy game, and the SST and InterLock are proven, lower-cost options for shots inside 300 metres.
What is the difference between ELD-X and ELD Match?
Both use Hornady's Heat Shield tip and high ballistic coefficient. ELD-X has a hunting jacket built to expand reliably from close range out to long range, while ELD Match is built for accuracy and consistency on paper and steel and is not designed for game.
