About the 6.5x50mmSR Arisaka

The semi-rimmed 6.5mm cartridge of the Japanese Type 38 rifle and carbine, dating from 1897. Mild recoil and a long 139 to 140 grain projectile at around 2,500 fps make it a pleasant deer round from an original Type 38, and the strong Arisaka action has carried plenty of sporterised rifles. Factory ammunition is scarce; Norma and PPU brass with standard .264 projectiles keep them shooting.
