The Zeiss SFL 8x30 is a compact, lightweight binocular for the walking hunter or stalker who wants Zeiss Victory-grade glass without the bulk of a full-size roof prism. At 460 g and 120 mm long it disappears into a jacket pocket, yet its 142 m field of view is the widest in the SFL range and makes it easy to pick up moving game.
The SFL (SmartFocus Lightweight) concept uses thinner lens elements set closer together, cutting weight by up to 30 per cent compared with conventional binoculars of the same class, all inside a magnesium housing. Zeiss's UHD (Ultra-High-Definition) optical concept and T* multicoating give 90 per cent light transmission with natural colour and fine detail into twilight. The focus wheel sits in the DoubleLink bridge and runs from close focus to infinity in 1.4 turns, easy to operate in gloves. LotuTec coated lenses shed rain and dirt, and the body is nitrogen filled and waterproof to 400 mbar.
