The Hornady 338 Lapua Magnum 240 gr CX (Custom) is a factory load suited to buffalo and other heavy, dangerous game. Hornady rates it at 2,900 ft/s from its test barrel with a G1 ballistic coefficient of .611. It suits hunters who want handload accuracy in a factory load.

Custom ammunition is loaded with proven Hornady hunting bullets that balance expansion and penetration on medium and large game. Most loads use a secant-ogive bullet for a good blend of ballistic efficiency and bearing surface, and every round is hand inspected before packaging.
