Barnes VOR-TX Safari 470 Nitro Express is dangerous game ammunition loaded with the 500 grain Banded Solid flat nose, made for double rifles and the buffalo and other heavy game they are built for.

The Banded Solid is machined from solid brass with relief bands on the shank to reduce pressure and fouling; it is designed to track straight, drive through heavy bone and come out undeformed, which is what a solid has to do on dangerous game. Barnes lists a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.243 and packs the ammunition in 20 round boxes.
