The Zeiss Terra ED 8x42 is the general-purpose model in the Terra range, giving hunters a bright 5.3 mm exit pupil and a wide 125 m field of view for bush and open-country work alike. It weighs 725 g and is built to take the knocks of everyday use.
Terra ED uses extra-low dispersion (ED) glass with a hydrophobic multicoating for 88 per cent light transmission and a clear, high-contrast image that holds up in poor light and wet weather. The housing is glass-fibre reinforced, waterproof and nitrogen filled, so it shrugs off rain, dust and knocks. A large, smooth focus wheel falls naturally under the index finger, so you can get a moving animal sharp in a moment. It is the entry point to Zeiss optics and a sensible step up from budget glass for anyone who hunts in all conditions.
